This is another first attempt, at macarons (read MA-CA-RONS) this time round. Since these cookies are so pricey, selling at $2.90 each and my kids have never tried them before, I decided to see whether I can make them instead. I found a great recipe from the net but now that I want to give the owner the credit, I can’t locate her website (will update when I can find it).

The portion of recipe allowed me to make three trays of macarons, but I can’t remember how many pieces in total. The first tray was undercooked. The macarons for the 2nd tray turned out too thin. Finally, the third tray had feet and the correct thickness but some cracked a little. Because macarons are really sweet, I’m not too keen to make another batch for the kids. So, I frosted what was left in the final tray with buttercream and stored them in an airtight container in the fridge.

Can you see the pink macaron had some cracks?
